9. The 10 Draw Phase & ABC Groups

  • The same thing has happened since Euromillions began back in 2004.
  • There is a natural cycle that occurs every 10 Draws and here you will find a handy tool to help with your number selection.
  • The column on the right hand side of the App page shows the probability of numbers being drawn relative to the group they belong to, A, B or C.
  • Group B consists of numbers that were not drawn in the previous Phase and generally more than 50% of these numbers are drawn in each phase so it's worth including one or two when choosing what numbers to play.
  • After the 3rd draw of each Phase previous drawn numbers begin to repeat and that frequency increases as the Phase continues.

Below is the previous 10 Draw Phase

Below is the probability factor for each 10 Draw Phase

Use it as a guide to select your numbers from each of the A B C Groups in each draw of the current phase.

First and foremost, it's important to point out that, each and every Main Ball Number between 1 and 50 and each Lucky Star Number between 1 and 12 have exactly the same chance of appearing in each and every draw.

However, since Euromillions began back in 2004 the same thing has happened over and over again every 10 draws.

Generally, between 30 and 34 of the 50 Main Ball Numbers are drawn every 10 draws and 50% or more of the 16 to 20 numbers that are not drawn in one phase have a higher than average probability of being drawn in the next 10 draws and so on.

There's no such thing as hot or cold numbers or any truth in the fact that some numbers have a better chance than others of being drawn.

The subtle difference is how often an individual number has repeated since it was first drawn.

There are 50 Main Ball Numbers and only 5 of those numbers can appear in any one draw. Once drawn those 5 numbers are returned to the Lottery machine to be tumbled with the other 45 numbers in the next draw they have an added chance of being repeated. That's why only 30 to 34 of the 50 numbers are drawn since the others are made up of repetitions.

When Euromillions began back in February 2004, it took 66 draws before all 50 Main Ball Numbers had been drawn at least once. (No. 17 was the last of the 50 main Ball Numbers to be drawn) That's 330 numbers drawn which of course means many of the numbers repeated frequently before all 50 had been drawn.

So, the 10 Draw Phase and ABC Groups are just a simple resource which helps to keep track of those numbers that have been drawn and are yet to, or more likely to, be drawn in the coming draws within the 10 Draw Phase.

You can keep track of each 10 Draw Phase in this section and use it to help you select your numbers more effectively.

The first box in the graphic shows the up and coming next 10 draws. the numbers will be shaded according to how many times they have repeated in this phase.

The 2nd box simply shows all 50 Main Ball Numbers which will be shaded according to how many times they are drawn in each phase.

The 3rd box shows how many numbers are drawn, not drawn and the number of repetitions.

The 4th box shows those numbers that were not drawn in the previous 10 Draw Phase. Generally more than 50% of these numbers will be drawn in the coming 10 Draw Phase.

The A B C Groups below are designed to compliment the 10 Draw Phase above.

Group A are numbers which have been drawn in the previous 10 Draw Phase

Group B are numbers which were not drawn in the previous phase but generally more than 50% of these numbers will be drawn in the current phase.

Group C are those numbers which have been drawn in this phase and any one of them has the chance to repeat in the current phase.

It is rare to see repetitions in the 2nd and 3rd draws, although this can happen occasionally.

After the 3rd draw it is generally more successful when the 5 Main Number Balls are made up of numbers from all three groups (There are 21 combinations overall)
